This Privacy Policy explains how Log (the “App”) and our website collect, use, and share information about you.

Summary

  • We collect: a sign-in identifier and email, fitness session metadata (start/end), your notes (text/voice/photo), usage and crash data, and website analytics data.

  • We don't store health metrics (e.g., calories); Health/HealthKit data is used only to provide features you request—not for ads.

  • We use service providers for hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, and AI-powered transcription/analysis of notes.

  • We keep data until you ask us to delete it; email ajay@the1388.company to request deletion.

  • We also collect limited advertising and app event data (e.g., device identifiers when you allow tracking, app interactions like install/open/login, and purchase details like value/currency) to measure and improve our ads.

Scope

This policy covers (a) the Log iOS app, including any Apple Health/HealthKit access you authorize, and (b) our website/marketing pages.

Information We Collect

  1. Account & Identifiers

    • Authentication data: a user identifier and email (your email may be a private relay if you use Sign in with Apple).

  2. Health & Fitness (Apple Health/HealthKit)

    • With your permission, the App reads Apple Health information to display it to you.

    • We do not store Health metrics on our servers.

    • We store only fitness session metadata (start/end) so you can view your history.

    • Health/HealthKit data is not used for advertising or marketing and is used only to provide features you request.

  3. User Content

    • Daily notes (text) are stored in our application database.

      • Voice notes and photo notes are stored in our cloud storage.

    • To provide features like transcription and analysis, your notes may be sent to a third-party AI processing provider solely to perform those tasks you request.

  4. Usage & Diagnostics

    • Usage data (e.g., screens viewed, interactions) to understand how the App is used and improve it.

    • Crash/diagnostic data to maintain reliability and troubleshoot issues.

  5. Website & Cookies

    • Our marketing site uses analytics cookies and similar technologies to measure aggregated site usage.

  6. Advertising & App Events

    • Identifiers: your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you don’t allow tracking or the system setting blocks requests, we do not receive IDFA. 

    • App interactions: install, first open, app open/foreground, and login (we log a custom “login” event).

    • Purchases: amount/currency and content metadata needed for conversion measurement (we don’t receive your card/bank data—Apple processes in-app payments).

    We use these events to measure ad performance, optimize delivery, and detect fraud.

How We Use Information

  • App functionality (authentication, syncing, showing your notes and Apple Health information as requested).

  • Product personalization (e.g., surfacing recent sessions/notes).

  • Analytics and quality (measure features, fix bugs, improve performance).

  • Support, safety, and legal compliance.

  • Advertising & Measurement. We share app event data with advertising platforms to measure the effectiveness of our ads, optimize campaigns (e.g., for purchases or logins), and understand conversions. When ATT is not allowed, measurement may occur via aggregated/privacy-preserving systems.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Health/HealthKit data for advertising.

Sharing and Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate the App and site, including:

  • Hosting/infrastructure & database providers

  • Cloud storage providers

  • Authentication providers

  • Analytics and crash monitoring providers

  • AI processing providers (to transcribe/analyze notes when you request those features)

  • Email and customer support providers

  • Advertising & measurement providers

These providers act on our instructions and are contractually restricted to using personal data only to deliver their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar event. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data Retention

  • Notes (text), voice notes, photo notes, usage and crash data are kept until you initiate an account deletion request in the App.

  • When you request deletion, we delete associated records and stored files from active systems and schedule remaining copies for removal during routine backup cycles within a reasonable period.

You may delete your account and associated data in the App by going to Settings > Account > Delete Account.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. You can exercise these rights by emailing ajay@the1388.company. If you are in California or the EEA/UK, you have additional rights under applicable law; we will honor those requests consistent with those laws.

On iOS, you can control cross-app tracking at Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track” or deny tracking for our app, we won’t access IDFA, and we’ll rely on aggregated measurement instead. You can change this permission any time in Settings.

Legal bases (EEA/UK): We process personal data as necessary to perform our contract with you (provide the App), based on legitimate interests (improve, secure, and support the App), and with your consent where required (e.g., Health/HealthKit access, certain analytics). You may withdraw consent at any time via your device permissions or by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and other safeguards appropriate to our services and risk profile. Data is stored with reputable cloud providers that provide security controls (including encryption at rest where available). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

Log is intended for individuals 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Transfers

We and our service providers may process data in the United States and other locations. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Health/HealthKit Notice

  • Health/HealthKit data is used only to provide features you request in the App.

  • We do not use Health/HealthKit data for marketing or advertising.

  • Except for fitness session metadata (e.g. start/end), we do not store Health/HealthKit data on our servers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, an in-app notice) and update the “Last updated” date above.
